Mark Zuckerberg Salary Per Year As CEO Of Facebook

What is Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg salary per year?

Mark Zuckerberg is the CEO of Facebook and as a result should be receiving a large salary per year for his position, but Mark Zuckerberg is getting paid 1 dollar for salary as Facebook's CEO since January 2013.

In 2012, Mark Zuckerberg earned an annual salary of $503,205. However, recently the world famous young billionaire has cut his salary to 1 dollar per year and agreed not to take an annual performance bonus from the company.

You may wonder, wouldn't that make Mark Zuckerberg earn nothing from Facebook? Wrong!

The reason Mark Zuckerberg can cut his salary to 1 dollar is because he don't need it, and this decision will help maximize Facebook profits.

But of course Zuckerberg's wealth will continue to come from his 28.1% equity stake in Facebook. As of March 2013, Mark Zuckerberg net worth was estimated to be $13.3 billion according to Forbes.

The internet entrepreneur exercised a stock option in 2012 that allowed him to purchase 60 million low-price shares of Facebook that have approximately $2.3 billion in value. Also In 2012, Mark Zuckerberg sold 30.2 million shares during Facebook’s IPO which generated $1.135 billion.

So Mark Zuckerberg salary per year is now just 1 dollar, but he continue to be a billionaire from his stock holdings in Facebook.
